Sources. Daily end-of-day storage: California Data Exchange Center (DWR) and U.S. Bureau of Reclamation RISE, ingested daily on this site (reservoir_storage_daily, 1995 onward). Capacities: DWR and Reclamation facility pages as recorded in the site’s infrastructure reference table.

Method. For each reservoir and day of the water year (October 1 is day 1) the band is computed across complete prior water years; the current water year is drawn against it and excluded from the band. The percentile rank on the tiles counts prior years with less storage on the same day. CalSim3 scenario storage exists on this site as a labeled overlay and is not drawn on this observed axis.
